Why servicing and maintaining your sewage treatment plant is so important

Pump Stations require servicing regularly to ensure that the pumps remain clear of grease and rags. It will also significantly increase the life of your pumps.

We can offer regular servicing contracts or a one-off service and emergency callouts. There’s lots of options including monthly direct debit options. CONTACT US for more information.

Servicing means you don’t need to worry about random checks from The Environment Agency

The Environment Agency (EA) in England and Wales are showing increasing concerns about the potential amount of pollution these sewage treatment plants can cause. The EA perform random discharge testing and may visit your home. If the test fails the permitted sample limits, they will want to see your service records and give you a timeline to get the plant discharging back within the permitted limits.

Our friendly, local team of engineers can service ALL makes and models of treatment plants, pump stations and rain water harvesters, both domestic and commercial systems.

Our engineers carry most parts for many systems to try to ensure a first time visit fix where possible.

  • Beacon or Alarm Flashing
  • Fault code on control panel
  • Leaks
  • Pump tripping the electrics
  • Tank is filling up quicker than usual
  • Sewage smells in the house or around the tank
  • Damp or soggy patches of ground around your treatment plant
  • Cracks or holes in the walls of the tank

We are certain that our pricing is extremely competitive and assure you that all work will be carried out by a fully trained, highly competent, British Water accredited service engineer.

Following the service our engineer will leave a completed service schedule detailing the scope of work carried out during the service. This information is important in order to maintain a service history of the treatment plant which is a requirement to ensure your system is able to meet with the regulations for small discharges as set out by the General Binding Rules.

Treatment plant servicing

We are one of the few service providers that will carry out a Turbidity test on the final effluent being discharged from your plant at every service.

What is a Turbidity test?

Taking this reading will provide a basic on site indication of how the plant is performing. Should our engineer have concerns about the quality of the discharge, we have the facility to carryout additional testing at our workshop. And if necessary can send samples for full laboratory analysis with report.

During the service our engineers will use a piece of equipment known as a sludge judge.

What does a sludge judge do?

A sludge judge allows the engineer to determine, with some accuracy, when the Treatment Plant requires a de-sludge. A de-sludge is by vacuuming the tanker, which saves you money on unnecessary tanker de-sludge as the frequency of a de-sludge is dependent on the amount of people using the system.
